Logos on recycled materials....

I have been hoping to enter a costume that I have been working on, but when reading the rules I'm unsure if my costume is OK and want to check before I go any further.

It is made entirely out of used soda cans and it is pretty clear on most of them which brand, etc. I used many different kinds - whatever we drank over the holidays and whatever my students brought me - so I'm not touting any one company. It would be hard to cut up a can and *not* be able to tell which specific soda it was! Would a costume made like this be ineligible?

Hi Jackie - yes, I'm afraid that if there is any part of a logo, that may still be recognisable, the garment will be ineligible for entry.

Last year, one of our entries was made with tea bags, complete with the tiny tag hanging off and that designer was required to cover each and every tag so the brand was no longer visible.

I do hope you can find some way around this issue to still be able to enter your garment.

you could spray paint with a small stencil over the letters of each can- make 'Sprite' 'Sprote' for instance...

I'd be interested to know if spraying would be allowed? As sprote would still be recognisable in the design and colour, its only a letter difference perhaps ..therefore recognisable as a product still ?
Can anyone help clarify?
